Bharat Heavy Electricals Withdraws Acceptance of LOI for 1x800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Government of India Undertaking, has withdrawn its acceptance of a Letter of Intent (LOI) from MB Power (Madhya Pradesh) Limited. The LOI related to the supply of equipment—specifically a Boiler, Turbine, and Generator—for the 1x800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Project.

The company confirmed the withdrawal of the acceptance to the customer on April 17, 2026, at 1636 hrs.

Sources indicate that the original LOI, issued on September 3, 2025, was contingent upon the execution of a formal contract within an agreed timeline. BHEL reported that despite multiple discussions and provided extensions, the formal contract could not be finalized as per the terms of the LOI.

The withdrawal marks the conclusion of the engagement for supplying equipment for the Anuppur Thermal Power Project.

BHEL Stock Price Movement

Today, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited shares rallied, finishing the session higher by 2.25% at ₹316.79. The stock surged to hit its 52-week high, supported by a significant trading volume of 25.07 million shares.
