Bajaj Electricals Limited has reported receiving an adverse appellate order concerning the disallowance of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Input Tax Credit for the financial year 2020-21.

The adverse order, dated May 30, 2026, was issued by the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Appeals)-1 in Bengaluru. The company reported receiving this order on May 31, 2026, noting that the appellate authority dismissed the appeal without considering the submission made by Bajaj Electricals Limited.

The original issue related to an assessment order received from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Audit)-1.2, DGSTO-1, Bengaluru, Karnataka, regarding disallowances of GST Input Tax Credit under FY 2020-21. The initial gross demand associated with this matter amounted to Rs. 18.90 lakh, which included a penalty of Rs. 0.86 lakh.

In response to this latest development, the management of Bajaj Electricals Limited is currently evaluating appropriate legal remedies. These remedies include filing an appeal before the appropriate appellate tribunal and/or initiating writ proceedings before the Hon'ble High Court against the Appeal Order.

The company stated that the financial impact of the appellate order, if materialized, would be restricted to the demand raised and penalty levied thereunder. Furthermore, Bajaj Electricals Limited confirmed that the order has no impact on the operational, financial, or other activities of the company.
