Aurobindo Pharma Limited Acquires 26% Stake in Swarnaakshu Solar Power for Captive Energy Consumption
Aurobindo Pharma Limited has completed a significant investment and operational agreement with Swarnaakshu Solar Power Private Limited (Swarnaakshu), securing a stake in the solar power firm to ensure captive energy supply.The company confirmed that it has acquired 26% of the paid up equity share capital of Swarnaakshu. This acquisition is part of an overall commitment of up to Rs. 10.40 crores intended for acquiring the stated percentage and associated securities in the solar power entity.
In a key step toward sustainable operations, Aurobindo Pharma Limited signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Swarnaakshu. This PPA facilitates the purchase of solar power intended exclusively for captive consumption, aligning with the captive power policy established by the Government of Telangana.
On June 25, 2026, the company made an initial investment amounting to Rs. 52 lakhs toward this venture. The remaining portion of the committed capital will be invested subsequently based on the progress of the solar project and Swarnaakshu's funding requirements.
