Apollo Micro Systems Limited has subscribed to a significant stake in the newly incorporated Shauryastra Defence Systems Private Limited, marking a strategic move into developing complete defence weapon systems for the nation. This investment helps establish Shauryastra as a dedicated technology and development arm of the Apollo Group, focused on addressing unsolved operational problems faced by India's Armed Forces.

Shauryastra Defence Systems Private Limited was incorporated in August 2026 and is positioned as an associate entity to Apollo Micro Systems Limited. The company’s mandate is to undertake research, design, and development of complete weapon systems, long range platforms, unmanned systems, and allied defence technologies for the military. This initiative aims to translate decades of capability building into delivering entire weapons as a total solution provider in the defence sector.

Apollo Micro Systems invested in the newly formed company through cash consideration. The subscription details confirm that Apollo holds 34% of the paid-up equity share capital of Shauryastra Defence Systems Private Limited.

The creation of a dedicated entity like Shauryastra is intended to address the immense complexity inherent in developing complete long range weapon systems, which require mastery across propulsion, energetics, aerodynamics, guidance, and system integration. While the Apollo Group has decades of experience in supplying mission critical subsystems—such as avionics, fuzes, actuators, and weapon electronics—Shauryastra will concentrate on achieving platform development from first principles, leveraging the manufacturing muscle and established certifications of the parent group.

The entity’s development will be spearheaded under the scientific guidance and leadership of Dr. V. K. Saraswat, who is a Promoter of Shauryastra Defence Systems Private Limited and is renowned for his work as Secretary, Department of Defence R&D, and Director General of DRDO. With Dr. Saraswat’s involvement, Shauryastra aims to build upon the established philosophy of indigenous content and programme leadership within India's defence sector.

Apollo Micro Systems stated that the launch of Shauryastra represents a natural extension of its four-decade journey in defence electronics. The new entity is set up to meet unanswered operational problem statements of the Armed Forces, positioning it as an answer to the national call for private champions capable of shouldering complete weapon programmes.
