Amagi Unveils Agentic Capabilities on Industry Cloud Platform for Autonomous Media Operations
Amagi, the global leader in SaaS technology for broadcast and connected TV (CTV), announced a major expansion of its Amagi NOW platform with the introduction of Agentic Media Operations. By integrating reasoning agents powered by Amagi Intelligence across its industry cloud platform, Amagi aims to enable media enterprises to manage content growth without a corresponding rise in operational overhead. As content volumes surge and distribution across global platforms becomes standard, traditional manual workflows present a significant bottleneck to scaling. Amagi's shift towards agentic media operations allows media teams to manage large content libraries and deliver globally while avoiding a linear increase in costs.
Srividhya Srinivasan, Co-founder and CTO at Amagi, stated, "Our customers don't need another standalone AI tool; they need their existing workflows to be intelligent. With these new agentic capabilities, we are enabling a low-touch, high-scale operating model where AI agents handle the heavy lifting of media preparation, so customers can scale without a linear increase in cost."
Scaling Through Autonomous Media Capabilities
Amagi NOW addresses four labor-intensive areas within the media supply chain using its new agentic features:- Metadata Enrichment: AI agents automatically analyze content to generate deep metadata and EPG-compliant descriptions for various platform distributions. This feature supports over 25 languages, enabling media teams to localize metadata at scale and launch into new international territories in days for streaming.
- Artwork Generation: Agents automatically generate and transform posters and key art into platform-compliant formats, including vertical formats for mobile-first distribution. Using subject-aware cropping, this eliminates common platform rejection cycles and frees creative teams from versioning tasks.
- Ad-Break Identification: Reasoning agents analyze the video context to determine optimal ad break positions, moving beyond manual placement. This ensures content is monetization-ready for FAST and AVOD platforms immediately upon ingestion while protecting the viewer experience.
- Localization & Captioning: Localization agents produce high-accuracy closed captions and subtitles from audio in 29+ languages and can translate them to over 100 languages. This capability removes the need for external vendor dependencies, readying content for a global audience at scale.
Vision for an Autonomous Media Supply Chain
The introduction of these capabilities represents a significant advance toward Amagi's vision of a fully autonomous media supply chain. These agents function as virtual operators that monitor inbound files, enrich them, and flag critical issues for human review, helping media companies maintain agility in the competitive market.About Amagi Media Labs Limited, founded in 2008, is a cloud-native SaaS platform serving the global media and entertainment industry.
