Adani Power Signs 25-Year Power Supply Agreement with MSEDCL for 1600 MW Thermal Plant
Adani Power Limited (APL) has secured a major long-term power supply contract with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The agreement, detailed in the latest updates regarding the company, covers the provision of 1600 MW of power on a continuous basis. The contract outlines a comprehensive partnership under which APL will establish and operate a new Ultra-Supercritical Thermal power plant with a capacity of 2x800 MW. The Power Supply Agreement (PSA) mandates a supply period spanning 25 years, providing significant long-term stability to the project.
Under this venture, Adani Power will execute the plant on a Design, Build, Finance, Own & Operate (DBFOO) basis. This structure places APL at the forefront of the power generation process, managing everything from initial design and construction through financing and eventual operation.
A critical component supporting this project is the coal linkage for the new thermal facility. The coal linkage has been successfully allocated under the SHAKTI Policy implemented by the Government of India, solidifying the foundational resources needed for the plant's operational success.
