Acme Solar Achieves Major Milestone by Operationalizing 2 GWh BESS Capacity in Rajasthan​

Gurugram, April 22, 2026: Acme Solar Holdings Ltd (ACME Solar) has announced a significant milestone, having cumulatively operationalized more than 2 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan. This achievement positions the company as among the first Indian renewable energy firms to reach this scale of energy storage deployment.

With this operationalization, ACME Solar’s total operational BESS capacity across its various subsidiaries in Rajasthan now stands at 591.18 MW, equivalent to 2031.24 MWh. Looking ahead, the company has plans to operationalize an additional 10 GWh of BESS by 2027.

The BESS projects are designed with the goal of enhancing grid reliability and optimizing overall power utilization. The systems achieve this by charging batteries during periods of non-peak demand and discharging power during peak demand periods. This capability is noted to play a critical role in balancing energy supply and demand while significantly improving grid stability.
