Abbott India Ltd Announces Key Directorship and Senior Management Changes​

Abbott India Ltd has announced several updates regarding its board of directors and senior management following the outcomes of its recent Board Meeting held on April 22, 2026. The board approved the appointment of two new directors and the appointment of a new senior management professional, alongside noting key changes in the existing leadership team.

Director Changes and Appointments​

The company confirmed the resignation of Ms. Alison Davies, effective close of business hours on April 22, 2026, citing other professional commitments. Additionally, Ms. Anisha Motwani, an Independent Director, concluded her second term, ceasing her directorship on April 24, 2026.

Two new appointments were approved by the Board of Directors.

Mr. Neeraj Jain (DIN: 00348591) was approved for appointment as an Additional Director and Independent Director. His tenure will be for three consecutive years, beginning April 25, 2026, subject to the approval of the company members.

Mr. James Wenner (DIN: 11650998) was approved for appointment as an Additional (Non-Executive) Director, effective April 23, 2026, and he is liable to retire by rotation.

The Board also approved sending a Postal Ballot Notice to the shareholders to consider and approve both the appointment of Mr. Neeraj Jain and Mr. James Wenner.

Senior Management and Operational Transitions​

Changes were also noted in the senior management team. Mr. Tushar Singh, Plant Director - Goa, will be serving with Abbott India Limited until May 31, 2026, as he moves to another affiliate of Abbott. Consequently, he will also cease to be the Senior Management Personnel of the Company effective May 31, 2026.

To fill the operational gap, the Board of Directors approved the appointment of Mr. Amol Metkar as Plant Director - Goa, effective June 1, 2026. Mr. Metkar will be considered Senior Management Personnel of the Company.

Neeraj Jain
Mr. Neeraj Jain, a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, brings over 30 years of management experience in finance, supply chain, and business across diversified industries, having worked at Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Hindustan Unilever (HUL). His expertise includes strategic business partnering, process excellence, controllership, and M&A.

James Wenner
Mr. James Wenner, who is Vice President, Treasurer for Abbott Laboratories, USA, brings significant experience in finance leadership. He previously served as Vice President, Internal Audit for Abbott Laboratories, USA. Mr. Wenner holds a degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.

Amol Metkar
Mr. Amol Metkar joined Abbott in 2017 and previously served as Head of Production - Hormones at Baddi and Senior Manager - Production at Goa manufacturing site. He has experience in driving Lean Six Sigma-based productivity improvements and is currently an Associate Director - Production at Abbott's Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) in Baddi.
