Mumbai, August 11, 2026: The Board of Directors of Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) announced that Aasif Malbari has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Malbari assumes the role immediately, succeeding Sudhir Sitapati.

Aasif Malbari currently holds the position of Global Chief Financial Officer and President of Godrej Africa. He brings three decades of experience from the FMCG and auto industries, having worked at GCPL, Tata Motors, and Hindustan Unilever. In his capacity as Global CFO, he was responsible for overseeing business strategy and partnering with leadership teams across different geographies to advance growth.

Mr. Malbari is recognized for his successful transformation of GCPL's Africa business. He guided the rapid expansion of the margin-accretive FMCG portfolio and strengthened the legacy Hair Fashion business through initiatives such as the highly successful launch of their air care category. This effort has resulted in a significant rise in EBITDA margins, growing from approximately 9% in FY24 to around 15% in FY26.

Prior to joining GCPL, Mr. Malbari served as Chief Financial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and held the position of Director at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. In this role, he played a key part in scaling the business and its reorganization, which included a USD 1 billion fundraise for the electric vehicle division. A Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, Mr. Malbari secured the All India First Rank in both the CA Intermediate and Final examinations while working at Hindustan Unilever.

Nisaba Godrej, Executive Chairperson of GCPL, commented on the appointment. She stated that As Global CFO, Aasif possesses a deep understanding of GCPL's operational rhythm. "I believe it's exactly the kind of ambitious, disciplined execution rigour GCPL needs across all our businesses for our next chapter," she said, expressing confidence in his ability to accelerate GCPL’s growth alongside the existing team. She also thanked Sudhir Sitapati for the bold thinking he contributed over the last five years.

Aasif Malbari expressed enthusiasm regarding the new role, stating that he is grateful to Nisaba and the Board for entrusting him with the responsibility. He emphasized commitment from himself and the team to meet high expectations, elevate core performance, and accelerate new category growth.
