Whirlpool of India Discloses Tax Dispute with Income Tax Department​

Whirlpool of India Limited announced details regarding a tax dispute with the Assessment unit of the Income Tax department, as of March 26, 2026.

The company received a draft assessment order for the assessment year 2023-24, proposing a total disallowance of INR 28.39 crore. This disallowance includes INR 21.31 crore related to transfer pricing adjustments and INR 7.08 crore resulting from adjustments made by the Centralized Processing Centre under Section 43B.

The total potential liability associated with this assessment order amounts to INR 7.14 crore, inclusive of interest and penalties to be determined at the time of the final order.

According to Whirlpool of India’s management, the proposed additions are not maintainable and the company is preparing to file objections with the Dispute Resolution Panel. The company stated that the dispute is not expected to materially impact its operations.
