
RITES Secures ₹45.19 Crore Consultancy Contract for Muriganga Bridge Project in West Bengal
Transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm RITES Ltd has secured a ₹45.19 crore contract from the West Bengal government for consultancy services related to the construction of a proposed four lane bridge over the Muriganga river.The company announced on Saturday that the contract was awarded by the Public Works Directorate of the West Bengal government for project management services associated with the major bridge project connecting Sagar Island with the mainland in South 24 Parganas district.
Consultancy Role for Muriganga Bridge Project
Under the agreement, RITES will act as the Project Management Consultant for the construction of the four lane bridge and its connecting infrastructure.The project includes the construction of approach roads linking Kachuberia on Sagar Island with Kakdwip, improving connectivity in the region.
As part of the contract scope, the company will handle:
- Design supervision
- Construction supervision
- Responsibilities as the Authority Engineer for the project
RITES stated that the promoter, promoter group, and group companies have no interest in the awarding entity, confirming that the transaction is between the West Bengal government and the government owned company.
Revised Estimate for Railway Electrification Project
In a separate development, RITES also received revised estimates from South Western Railway for railway electrification work on the Mysuru–Hassan–Mangaluru line, including the Hassan–Arsikere section.According to the regulatory filing, the work has been awarded on a cost plus turnkey basis.
The revised project cost for the order is ₹729.28 crore, excluding GST, including RITES fees.
