The newly inaugurated National Reference Laboratory spans over 1 lakh square feet and is designed to support 15 diagnostic disciplines. It offers more than 3,500 test modalities, covering preventive, routine, and specialized testing requirements.By anchoring its diagnostics venture around a centralized reference laboratory, Torrent Group aims to build scale and capability from the outset, focusing on scientific depth and quality benchmarks.

Commenting on the development, Varun Mehta, Director at Torrent Group, said the company is entering the diagnostics space with a long-term perspective.He stated that the organization has been anchored around a national reference laboratory to ensure a strong scientific foundation. According to him, this approach enables Torrent to offer one of the widest test menus in the industry while establishing governance structures, validation frameworks, and defined quality standards.
