Thomas Cook (India) Limited also received an order from the Commercial Tax Officer, Chennai Central, Tamil Nadu, confirming a demand on short payment of GST amounting to INR 16,13,449, applicable interest of INR 17,17,063, and a penalty of INR 16,13,449 under Section 50 and Section 74 of the CGST Act 2017, respectively. The company is evaluating necessary steps with regard to the upheld amount, noting that the event has no material financial or operational impact on the entity.
