
Thomas Cook (India) Limited Approves Loan Conversion, Appoints New Executives
Thomas Cook (India) Limited announced several key decisions following a board meeting held on March 20, 2026. The company granted in-principal approval for the conversion of an inter-company loan to Thomas Cook Lanka (Private) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, into Optionally Convertible Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares (OCCRPS). The conversion will be executed in one or more tranches, with a subcommittee delegated authority for the process.Additionally, the board appointed Deepesh Varma as Chief Business Officer - Foreign Exchange, effective April 1, 2026. He will also serve as a Senior Management Personnel (SMP). Mr. Varma, who has been with the organization for over 13 years, previously held roles including Business Improvement Consultant at British Telecom and Head - Business Process and Operational Excellence at Thomas Cook (India) Limited. He completed a Senior Management Programme from IIM Calcutta in 2010 and holds a Hotel Management degree.
The company also appointed Deepti Sheth as President and Group Head - Human Resources, also effective April 1, 2026, and designated her as a Senior Management Personnel (SMP). Ms. Sheth has been with the organization for over 11 years and previously held strategic HR roles at Edelweiss Financial Services Limited and ASK Investment Holdings Private Limited. She completed a Post Graduate degree in Human Resources in 2006.
