Chennai, February 19: Artificial Intelligence driven platforms have moved beyond being optional enhancements to becoming core infrastructure for telecom operators, helping them counter complex fraud risks and unlock new digital revenue streams, according to Subex Ltd.

The Bengaluru based telecom AI solutions provider said operators globally are shifting away from traditional rule based fraud and assurance systems that depend on manual reviews and static thresholds.

Legacy Fraud Systems Struggle With Modern Telecom Complexity

According to Subex Ltd, conventional fraud and revenue assurance tools are increasingly unable to cope with the scale and complexity of modern telecom networks. Today’s networks manage massive traffic volumes and connect with hundreds of ecosystem partners across services and geographies.

In such an environment, even minor monitoring gaps can result in significant revenue leakage or erosion of customer trust. Static systems, the company noted, are not equipped to deliver the real time oversight required for digital telecom operations.

AI at the Core of Fraud Management and Partner Settlement

Subex Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Nisha Dutt said AI is now essential to managing telecom fraud, business assurance, and partner settlement processes at scale.

"The only scalable way to monitor every product, channel, and partner in real time is to put AI at the core of fraud management, business assurance, and partner settlement," Dutt said.

She added that across Subex’s customer base, these functions are becoming central to how telecom operators run and expand their digital businesses.

Real Time Revenue Visibility and Early Fraud Detection

The company said AI enables operators to gain real time visibility across all revenue streams. This helps detect fraud and revenue leakage at an early stage while supporting the rollout of new services with traceability, trust, and compliance built in.

Subex highlighted four major deployments of its technology:
  • VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands
  • Telkomsel in Indonesia
  • A leading telecom operator in Morocco
  • A pan African telecom group
These engagements span consumer, digital, fintech, and wholesale markets across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Supporting API Services and New Settlement Models

Subex said its AI driven platform provides telecom operators with a foundation to expand into Application Programming Interface services, rich messaging, direct carrier billing, and emerging partner settlement models within a unified deployment framework.

According to the company, this approach enables faster time to market, quicker settlement cycles, reduced disputes, and improved operational visibility.

Founded in 1994, Subex Ltd has more than 30 years of experience working with communications service providers worldwide, helping them strengthen revenue protection and improve profitability in an increasingly digital telecom ecosystem.
