Sterlite Electric Appoints Frederic Trefois as Group CEO to Lead Next Growth Phase​

New Delhi, March 24: Sterlite Electric on Tuesday announced the appointment of Frederic Andre M Trefois as its Group Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition as the company prepares for its next phase of growth in the power transmission and distribution sector.

Trefois was previously serving as an independent, non-executive director on the company’s board, according to an official statement. With extensive experience in managing and overseeing companies, he is set to steer Sterlite Electric’s strategic direction amid evolving global energy demands.

Leadership Backed by Global Industry Experience​

Commenting on the appointment, Pratik Agarwal, Managing Director of Sterlite Electric, highlighted Trefois’ international expertise and leadership capabilities.

“Frederic brings a global perspective, disciplined execution, and deep industry insight at a time when grids worldwide must evolve to meet complexity and scale. His leadership will help Sterlite Electric grow while reinforcing our role in enabling reliable, affordable, and sustainable power,” Agarwal said.

Before joining Sterlite Electric, Trefois was associated with Sécheron Hasler Group and SNC-Lavalin Inc., gaining significant experience across global infrastructure and engineering domains. He is an engineer by training and holds degrees in civil engineering.

Focus on Power Transmission and System Integration​

Sterlite Electric Ltd, formerly known as Sterlite Power Transmission Limited, operates as a manufacturer of capital goods and a provider of system integration solutions. The company specializes in the power transmission and distribution segment across both domestic and international markets.

Its portfolio includes overhead conductors, power cables, and optical ground wire (OPGW), along with Master System Integration services, positioning it as a key player in enabling modern power infrastructure.
