Meri Policy Mere Haath Campaign Delivers Crop Insurance Policies to Farmers in Bilaspur

Bilaspur (HP), March 7: Crop insurance policies are being delivered directly to farmers at their homes under the Himachal Pradesh government's "Meri Policy Mere Haath" campaign, according to Bilaspur Deputy Director of Agriculture Kulbhushan Dhiman.

The initiative, which runs until March 15, 2026, aims to ensure that farmers receive their crop insurance documents and understand the benefits and coverage available under the scheme.

Doorstep Delivery of Crop Insurance Policies

Dhiman said that representatives from agricultural insurance companies are visiting farmers’ homes to hand over the insurance policies. The effort is designed to provide farmers with timely and complete information about their crop insurance coverage.

The campaign ensures that policyholders receive their documents directly while also helping farmers understand the terms of their insurance.

Wheat and Garlic Crops Insured Across 3,150 Hectares

According to the agriculture department, 30,975 farmers in Bilaspur district have insured wheat and garlic crops covering approximately 3,150 hectares of land under the scheme.

Out of these, 9,585 farmers have already received their insurance policies as part of the ongoing campaign.

AgriStack Registration Mandatory for Farmers

Dhiman also stated that all insurance policyholders and other farmers must register on the AgriStack portal to access various government agricultural schemes.

Registration on the portal enables farmers to receive benefits from departmental initiatives and central government programmes such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

Over 64,000 Farmers Registered Under PM-KISAN

The district currently has 64,285 farmers registered under the PM-KISAN scheme. To make the process easier, farmers can complete their AgriStack registration free of cost at Lokmitra centres across the district.

The campaign is expected to help expand awareness about crop insurance while ensuring that farmers receive their policy documents and government scheme benefits without delays.
