SJVN Limited Appoints Shri Parthajit De as Chief Financial Officer​

SJVN Limited has announced the appointment of Shri Parthajit De as Chief Financial Officer (Key Managerial Personnel) of the company, effective April 10, 2026. The decision was approved by the Board of Directors of the company at a meeting held on April 10, 2026.

Shri Parthajit De currently serves as a Director (Finance) of SJVN Limited, which is a 'Navratna' Company of the Government of India under the Ministry of Power.

Prior to his appointment as Director (Finance), Shri De was responsible for the Corporate Accounts & Policy Section, Corporate Tax Cell, and Employment Benefit Trusts at the Corporate Office of NHPC Limited. He also served as a nominee Director on the Board of Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd., a wholly owned Subsidiary of NHPC Ltd.

The board meeting commenced at 11:45 HRS and concluded at 14:25 HRS.

Professional Experience and Credentials​

Shri Parthajit De brings extensive financial expertise to the role. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and holds qualifications as a Chartered Financial Analyst and CGMA from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

His professional career spans nearly 30 years of post-qualification experience. Shri De began his career with NHPC Limited as a Trainee Officer (Finance) in November 1998. Over his more than 27 years with NHPC, he gained deep expertise across finance domains, including Corporate Accounts, Taxation, Trusts, and Contracts. His experience encompasses a thorough understanding of Indian Accounting Standards, Taxation, Tariff Regulations, and Corporate Governance, which are critical for power project planning, development, and operation.

Shri De has managed roles both at project sites and the Corporate Office. His journey with NHPC included postings at Rangit Project, Sikkim, and Teesta Low Dam Projects, West Bengal, Siang Basin Projects, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Rural Roads Project, Bihar. At the Corporate Office, he headed the committee responsible for the first-time adoption of Ind AS in 2016-17.

During his tenure as head of Corporate Accounts & Policy, the Financial Statements of NHPC received NIL Comments from the C&AG for nine consecutive years, spanning from 2016-17 to the present. Furthermore, under his purview, the company secured the Silver Shield for Excellence in Financial Reporting in 2019-20, the Gold Shield in 2020-21 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and a Gold Medal for Best Presented Annual Report from the South Asian Federation of Accountants in 2020-21. He was also instrumental in the revision and updation of NHPC's Finance Manuals in 2022.

SJVN Limited's Board noted that Shri De's experience positions him to implement processes and systems that reduce risk, ensure business growth, optimize resource utilization, and promote sustainability, integrity, compliance, and transparency.
