SJVN Limited Achieves 1 Billion Unit Generation Milestone at 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project​

SJVN Limited announced a significant achievement with its 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project, successfully generating 1 billion units of energy as of March 20, 2026. The project, located in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan, marks a key step in the company’s commitment to clean and sustainable energy.

The project is being developed through SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary. The foundation stone was laid by the Hon'ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on January 3, 2023, at Jaipur. It achieved its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on December 24, 2025.

The 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project is projected to generate approximately 2,454.55 million units of electricity in its first year and 56 billion units cumulatively over 25 years. The project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2.78 million tonnes. The tariff for the project is ₹2.57 per unit, and the electricity will be supplied to Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.

According to Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN Limited, "The achievement of 1 Billion Units generation from our 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project is a testament to SJVN's strong commitment towards accelerating India's clean energy transition.”

The Director (Personnel) of SJVN noted, "This milestone underscores SGEL’s capability to deliver large-scale solar projects within stipulated timelines and achieve early generation benchmarks.”
