
Jaipur, April 9 Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma chaired a meeting with officials on Thursday to review preparations for Prime Minister's visit to the state for the inauguration of the HPCL refinery in Balotra district on April 21.
During the meeting, Sharma said the Pachpadra refinery project will strengthen energy security and accelerate economic growth in the state.
He directed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the event, including seating, drinking water, medical facilities, electricity supply, parking, traffic management, and security.
The chief minister said the prime minister will also address a public gathering and flag off LPG tankers from the refinery during the visit.
Sharma said the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) complex will produce petrol and diesel along with petrochemical products such as polypropylene, linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), benzene, toluene and butadiene.
According to officials, the refinery has a revised cost of Rs 79,459 crore and an annual refining capacity of 9 million metric tonnes.
Senior officials, including Chief Secretary V Srinivas and Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, were present in the meeting, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan BJP leaders on Thursday said major projects such as the Pachpadra refinery and Jaipur Metro Phase-2 will accelerate development in the state.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office on Thursday, senior leader Satish Poonia, Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham outlined key initiatives undertaken by the Bhajanlal Sharma-led government.
