
RBL Bank Responds to Allegations of Funds Diversion
RBL Bank Ltd. has clarified its position regarding a news report appearing on www.siasat.com on March 30, 2026, alleging 137 crore was diverted to China through mule accounts at a branch in Telangana.The bank confirmed awareness of FIR Nos. 68/2026 to 78/2026 registered at PS Karimnagar-III Town under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act. The matter is currently under investigation by the Karimnagar-III Town Police, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, and is pending before the Hon'ble Junior Civil Judge-cum-Judicial First Class Magistrate at Karimnagar.
The investigation concerns the alleged misuse of current accounts at the Bank's Kisan Nagar branch in Karimnagar, Telangana, reportedly used for unlawful activities. Two employees of the branch have been taken into custody and subsequently released on bail.
RBL Bank stated it has not authorized or sanctioned any wrongful acts by individuals and is unaware of any misuse of customer funds. The bank maintains Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance policies and procedures and expects strict adherence.
The bank affirmed it is not aware of any undisclosed information that would explain recent trading activity and does not anticipate any material impact on its operations or financial position from the matter, as it does not pertain to the bank's financial affairs.
