Petronet LNG Limited Approves Formation of Subsidiary for Energy Sector Innovation
Petronet LNG Limited announced on March 22, 2026, that its board of directors approved a proposal to establish a Section 8, limited by guarantee, wholly-owned subsidiary company. The new entity will focus on strengthening innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship within the energy sector.The subsidiary will foster, nurture, incubate, mentor, and promote start-ups aligned with India’s national development and energy transition priorities. Key areas of focus include innovation infrastructure and shared facilities, industry-led mentorship and advisory services, research translation, commercial scale-up, capital mobilization, financial participation, ecosystem integration, and policy leadership.
Further details regarding the subsidiary will be disclosed upon its incorporation. The board meeting that approved the proposal took place on March 18, 2026.
