
Patel Engineering Awarded BTN/INR 230.70 Crore Contract for Hydroelectric Project in Bhutan
Mumbai, March 20, 2026 – Patel Engineering Ltd. has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited (DHPL) for a contract valued at BTN/INR 230.70 crore (excluding taxes). The contract covers Package I: PreConstruction Works for the 1,125 MW Dorjilung Hydroelectric Power Project in Bhutan.Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited is a joint venture between Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) and Tata Power Company Limited. The Dorjilung Hydroelectric Power Project represents Bhutan’s largest hydro project under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The scope of Patel Engineering’s work includes civil and hydromechanical activities, encompassing the construction of two diversion tunnels, an intermediate adit, a highway road tunnel, and four sets of vertical lift fixed wheel gates. The project is scheduled for completion within 300 days, with a one-year defects notification period. The project site is located approximately 7 km from Autsho town in Mongar Dzongkhag, Bhutan.
