NTPC Completes Transfer of Pakri Barwadih Coal Mine and CMHQ to NTPC Mining Ltd.​

NTPC Ltd. announced the final transfer of its Pakri Barwadih Coal Mine business, located in Hazaribagh District, Jharkhand, along with the Coal Mining Head Quarter (CMHQ) in Ranchi, Jharkhand, to NTPC Mining Limited (NML). The transfer, effective April 1, 2026, completes the phased transfer of NTPC’s coal mining business to its wholly-owned subsidiary, NML, as previously disclosed on August 28, 2025, October 1, 2025, December 1, 2025, and February 1, 2026.

The transfer was executed according to an amended Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) dated September 17, 2025. With this final tranche, all coal mining units are now transferred to NTPC Mining Limited. The Pakri Barwadih Coal Mine commenced commercial operations (COD) on April 1, 2026.
