Novartis India Appoints Additional Director, Acknowledges Departing Board Member
Novartis India Ltd. announced several board changes Friday, March 27, 2026. The company appointed Ms. Gowree Gokhale as an Additional Director, designated as a Non-Executive and Independent Director, effective April 1, 2026. Her appointment is for a five-year term, extending until March 31, 2031, pending shareholder approval.Ms. Gokhale brings extensive legal experience, including specialization in Intellectual property, Labour, Tax, and Consumer Protection laws. She previously co-led the Pharma and Medical Devices practice at Nishith Desai Associates and currently leads her own independent chamber practice.
The Board also acknowledged the completion of the second term of Ms. Sandra Martyres as an Independent Director. Her tenure concludes on April 18, 2026. Novartis India expressed appreciation for Ms. Martyres' contributions to the company.
Shareholders will be asked to approve Ms. Gokhale's appointment via postal ballot. The Board meeting commenced at 9:33 A.M. (IST) and concluded at 10:01 A.M. (IST).
