
JSW Steel Reports Combined Crude Steel Production of 30.14 Million Tonnes for FY26, Showing 8% YoY Growth
JSW Steel has reported the combined Crude Steel production for the financial year 2026 (FY26) at 30.14 million tonnes, marking an 8% growth year over year (YoY).The company noted operational milestones during the period, including the Salem unit upgrading one of its casters in January 2026, followed by the commissioning of a new Ladle Furnace and Vacuum Degasser in February 2026. Following the successful integration of these units by the end of February 2026, the capacity of the Salem unit increased from 1.0 MTPA to 1.15 MTPA, effective March 2026.
However, the Blast Furnace-3 (BF-3) at Vijayanagar underwent a shutdown for capacity upgradation starting at the end of September 2025, which impacted the crude steel production and capacity utilization at the Company's Indian operations throughout FY26. For the combined Indian operations, the capacity utilization for the year was approximately ~92% excluding BF-3 capacity, and ~87% including BF-3 capacity.

For the fourth quarter of FY26, the combined Crude Steel production reached 7.49 million tonnes. For this quarter, the capacity utilization for the combined Indian operations stood at approximately ~96% excluding BF-3 capacity, and ~87% including BF-3 capacity.
