JSW Cement Expands into North India with New Plant Commissioning

Mumbai/Nagaur (Rajasthan), March 19, 2026 – JSW Cement, a subsidiary of the JSW Group, has commenced production at a new greenfield integrated cement manufacturing plant in Nagaur, Rajasthan, marking its entry into the North Indian market.

The commissioning of the Nagaur facility elevates the company’s total cement grinding capacity to 24.1 MTPA, with a clinker manufacturing capacity of 9.74 MTPA, including its joint venture, JSW Cement FZC.

The new plant features a 3.30 MTPA clinkerization unit and a 2.50 MTPA cement grinding unit, with an additional 1.00 MTPA cement grinding unit currently under construction. This facility is strategically positioned to serve high-growth markets in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and the National Capital Region (NCR).

The ₹800 crore investment for the Nagaur plant was partially funded through proceeds from JSW Cement’s Initial Public Offering (IPO).

"The commencement of production at the Nagaur facility is a pivotal moment for JSW Cement," said Parth Jindal, Managing Director of JSW Cement. "Our aim, as outlined during our IPO process, was to put the company firmly on the path of becoming a pan-India player."

Nilesh Narwekar, CEO of JSW Cement, added, “Foraying into the rapidly-growing north Indian market is a strategic priority for us.”

The plant incorporates sustainable manufacturing practices, including provisions for co-processing alternative fuels and a 7 km long Overland Belt Conveyor for limestone transport. The facility will also soon feature a 16 MW Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) to further reduce its carbon footprint.

JSW Cement currently operates eight plants in India including one integrated unit, one clinker unit and six grinding units across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Odisha.
