The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India's leading hospitality company, announced it has expanded its hotel portfolio to 628 properties. This growth marks a period of sustained organic expansion alongside inorganic acquisitions, positioning the company with a pipeline of 255 hotels.

IHCL’s latest developments point to an accelerated expansion strategy, adding significant capacity across its diverse brand portfolio. The company stated that the financial year recorded 250 signings through combined inorganic and sustained organic growth, which expanded its brand presence and scaled operations, particularly in the midscale segment.

Key Growth Drivers and Acquisitions​

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President - Real Estate & Development, IHCL, detailed the expansion efforts. She noted that the luxury segment was strengthened through the onboarding of Claridges Collection, a boutique luxury offering, and the acquisition of a controlling stake in Atmantan, an integrated wellness center. Brij hospitality contributed to the experiential leisure portfolio.

In the midscale category, Ginger led the expansion with the acquisition of a majority stake in ANK and Pride hospitality, resulting in a portfolio exceeding 250 properties across over 150 locations.

IHCL also highlighted organic momentum within its brands. Taj saw 19 signings, including a hotel in Cairo, a 500 key hotel in Patna, and accommodations and branded residences in NOIDA. The Gateway brand achieved a milestone with over 50 hotels in its portfolio.

Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President - Hotel Openings & New Businesses, IHCL, reported that the company opened over 30 hotels during the fiscal year, representing entry into new markets such as Lakshadweep, Ekta Nagar, Raichak, Kanpur, Vrindavan, and Bhutan. Furthermore, IHCL strengthened its presence in Goa, Ahmedabad, Coorg, Kochi, Gurugram, Delhi, Varanasi, Udaipur, Haridwar, and Dehradun.

The acquisitions this year contributed over 100 operating hotels, bringing the total number of operating hotels to 373, with a capacity of over 33,000 rooms for the fiscal year. IHCL remains positioned to achieve its objective of a 700-hotel portfolio under the Accelerate 2030 strategy.
