
HDFC Bank Appoints External Law Firms to Review Director’s Resignation
HDFC Bank Limited announced on March 24, 2026, the appointment of external law firms to review the resignation letter of Mr. Atanu Chakraborty, who stepped down as Part-time Chairman and Independent Director on March 18, 2026.The Board of Directors approved the appointment of the law firms at a meeting held on March 23, 2026, as a proactive measure to reinforce the bank’s governance standards. The law firms are expected to submit their report within a reasonable timeframe.
According to the bank, Mr. Chakraborty did not cite any occurrences or practices that conflicted with his personal values and ethics during his tenure.
