GVN Prasad Appointed Additional Charge of Managing Director at The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited
The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited (OMDC) announced the appointment of Shri GVN Prasad as the additional charge of Managing Director (MD) and Director (P&P), effective February 22, 2026. This appointment, approved by the competent authority, is for a period of one year or until further orders.The change follows the completion of Shri Vasudha Chandra Suratkal’s tenure, who held the additional charge of the posts of Managing Director and Director (P&P) since February 22, 2025, as per order no. 7/7/2015-BLA dated February 25, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
Shri GVN Prasad is currently Director (Commercial) at RINL. He joined RINL in 1987 and holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering, in addition to completing an Executive Post Graduate Program in Executive Management from IIM-Kozhikode. He has previously held roles including General Manager (Marketing) and Branch Manager (Marketing), with experience across India.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Steel on March 17, 2026, Shri Prasad’s appointment also includes the additional charge of Director (Production & Planning) for OMDC.
