
Haryana Records 22 Percent Surge in SGST Collection in FY 2025 to 26, Highest in India
Gross SGST Collection Touches Rs 44,460 Crore Till February
Chandigarh, March 1: Haryana has emerged as the top performing state in the country in terms of State Goods and Services Tax collection growth, registering a record 22 percent rise in the financial year 2025 to 26.Haryana Excise and Taxation Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said on Sunday that the state’s gross SGST collection after settlement has reached Rs 44,460 crore so far in the current fiscal. This marks an increase of Rs 7,918 crore compared to collections recorded up to February in the previous financial year.
The 22 percent growth rate is the highest among all States and Union Territories, according to the latest data released by the Union Finance Ministry.
Haryana Outpaces National Average SGST Growth
As per official figures, the national average growth in gross SGST collections across States and Union Territories stands at 6 percent in the current financial year. Haryana’s performance significantly exceeds this benchmark.In February alone, the state recorded a 23 percent increase in gross SGST collections compared to February of the previous fiscal year, maintaining its strong growth trajectory.
Steady Growth Despite GST Rate Rationalization
Haryana has continued to post consistent gains even after the GST rate rationalization carried out by the GST Council in September 2025. The steady rise in collections reflects efficient tax administration and the overall strength of the state’s economy.Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had welcomed and supported the GST rate rationalization measures during the GST Council meeting held in September 2025. He had also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister for the reforms.
Over 6.22 Lakh GST Taxpayers in the State
The Excise and Taxation Commissioner stated that Haryana currently has 6,22,478 registered GST taxpayers. To facilitate GST registration and compliance, GST Suvidha Kendras have been established in all districts of the state.Officials attribute the robust growth in SGST collections to improved tax compliance and reforms introduced in the GST regime over the past few years. Enhanced tax analysis systems adopted by the Haryana Excise and Taxation Department have also contributed to the sustained increase in revenue.
