Globus Spirits Limited has announced the launch of TERAI Tequila, signalling a strategic expansion into the global premium tequila segment. This introduction reinforces TERAI's position as a contemporary house of spirits, designed to resonate with the modern Indian consumer who values global exploration and culturally rooted experiences.

TERAI Tequila's origins trace back to Jalisco, Mexico, the recognized heartland of tequila. The spirit is crafted at the La Huaracha Distillery, a location noted for preserving distilling traditions over five generations. It is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, which is cultivated in Mexico's mineral-rich volcanic soils. The distillation process utilizes time-honored methods, capturing the essence of the terroir and authentic Mexican craftsmanship.

In a significant development for the Indian spirits industry, TERAI Tequila is imported directly from Mexico and is bottled under the strict license and supervision of the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT). This achievement establishes TERAI as the first authentic tequila to be bottled in India.

Shekhar Swarup, Joint Managing Director at Globus Spirits Limited, commented that the evolution of India's spirits consumer is shifting towards categories that reflect global exposure and refined experiences. He added that the launch aims to bring the absolute authenticity of Mexican craftsmanship to Indian consumers while strengthening TERAI's image as a brand for the modern Indian.

The Debut Expression: TERAI Blanco​

The initial release featured is the Blanco, representing the purest expression of the Blue Weber Agave and the most vibrant style within the tequila category.

The brand narrative for TERAI Tequila draws inspiration from Mexican lore, referencing the Monarch butterflies returning to their ancestral land. This concept is described as a tribute to return—a celebration of heritage, patience, and the reward following a journey well executed.

P. S. Gill, CEO of the Consumer Division, stated that the TERAI portfolio was conceptualized to connect with emerging consumers seeking discovery, quality, and global relevance. He noted that with TERAI Tequila, the company is not only entering a new category but also reinforcing its commitment to shaping premium consumption occasions within India's evolving urban drinking culture.

Tasting Profile and Pricing​

The TERAI Tequila Blanco boasts a profile described as rich and layered, guided by time and tradition. Its palate features warm agave sweetness beautifully balanced with the distinct spice of pepper, while the finish offers an earthy depth attributed to its red volcanic soil origin.
