City Union Bank Appoints New Chief Risk Officer​

City Union Bank Limited announced the appointment of Shri. Venkatakrishnan S as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) effective April 1, 2026. The appointment was approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors at a meeting held on March 23, 2026. Shri. Kalyanaraman M will cease to serve as CRO on March 31, 2026, due to superannuation.

Venkatakrishnan S holds a B.Com, CA, and CMA. He currently serves as Senior Deputy General Manager in the Risk Management department of the Bank since July 2024. He brings 26 years of experience, including 19 years in banking, with expertise in credit and operational risk, ICMP, capital adequacy, ECL (Ind AS), and portfolio risk monitoring.

Prior to joining City Union Bank, Venkatakrishnan S held positions at RBL Bank as Vice President II (August 2016 to June 2024), a Practicing Chartered Accountant (April 2012 to July 2016), Barclays Bank as Regional Underwriting Manager (July 2007 to December 2011), ICICI Bank as Regional Credit Manager (June 2002 to June 2007), and Ashok Leyland Finance as Senior Executive (August 2000 to June 2002).

The Board meeting commenced at 4:00 p.m. and concluded at 6:35 p.m.
