
Economic Survey Projects Strong Growth Across Agriculture, Industry and Services
Raipur, February 23: Chhattisgarh’s economy is projected to maintain steady momentum in the financial year 2025-26, with Gross State Domestic Product at constant prices estimated to grow by 8.11 percent, according to the state’s Economic Survey Report.The report was presented in the Assembly on Monday by State Planning, Economics and Statistics Department Minister OP Chaudhary.
GSDP at Constant Prices to Reach Rs 3.58 Lakh Crore
As per the advance estimates, the state’s GSDP at constant prices with base year 2011-12 is expected to rise to Rs 3,58,293 crore in 2025-26. This compares with Rs 3,31,402 crore recorded in FY25, reflecting an 8.11 percent increase year-on-year.The projected growth indicates continued economic expansion, supported by performance across key sectors of the state economy.
Sectoral Growth: Services Lead the Expansion
The survey highlights broad-based growth across agriculture, industry and services.The agriculture and allied sector, which includes agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing, is expected to grow by 7.49 percent in 2025-26 compared to the previous fiscal year.
The industry sector, comprising mining and quarrying, construction, manufacturing and electricity, gas and water supply, is projected to expand by 7.21 percent.
The services sector is expected to record the highest growth among the three major segments, with a projected increase of 9.11 percent over the previous year.
GSDP at Current Prices to Rise 11.57% in FY26
In nominal terms, the state’s GSDP at current prices is estimated to increase to Rs 6,31,291 crore in 2025-26. This is up from Rs 5,65,845 crore in 2024-25, reflecting a growth of approximately 11.57 percent.The difference between constant and current price estimates reflects both real growth and the impact of price changes during the fiscal year.
Per Capita Income Likely to Cross Rs 1.79 Lakh
The Economic Survey also projects a rise in per capita income. The per capita Net State Domestic Product at current prices is expected to reach Rs 1,79,244 in 2025-26.This marks an estimated increase of 10.07 percent compared to Rs 1,62,848 recorded in 2024-25.
The projected rise in per capita income indicates an overall improvement in income levels across the state alongside economic expansion.
With steady growth projected in GSDP and income indicators, the advance estimates signal continued economic progress for Chhattisgarh in the financial year 2025-26.
