Central Bank of India Announces Changes in Senior Management​

Central Bank of India announced changes in its senior management, effective April 1, 2026. The changes include appointments and promotions within the General Manager ranks.

Appointments:

• Shri Sohail Ahmad was appointed as Chief General Manager. He joined the Bank in 1995, holds a Degree in ICWA (INT) and a Bachelor of Commerce, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He has over 30 years of banking experience and was previously the General Manager, Emerging Business and Cent Pragati Department.
• Shri Kushal Pal was appointed as Chief General Manager. He joined the Bank in 1995, holds a Degree in Masters of Arts (Public Administration) and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He has over 30 years of banking experience and previously served as General Manager, Human Capital Management and Board Secretariat.
• Smt Kavita Thakur was appointed as Chief General Manager. She joined the Bank in 1990, holds a Degree in Masters of Arts (Economics) and a Masters in Business Administration (Banking and Finance), and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). She holds a Certificate Course on Resolution of Stressed Assets with Special Emphasis on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 for Bankers and was previously the Chief Compliance Officer.

Promotions:

• Shri Pramod Mishra was promoted to General Manager. He joined the Bank in 1991, holds a Degree in Masters of Arts, and has over 35 years of banking experience. He previously served as Deputy General Manager, Bhopal Zone.
• Shri Birendra Mehta was promoted to General Manager. He joined the Bank in 2000, holds a Degree in Bachelor of Science, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He has over 25 years of banking experience and previously served as Deputy General Manager, Recovery Department.
• Dr. Himanshu Gupta was promoted to General Manager. He joined the Bank in 2011, holds a Degree in Master in Management Studies and Bachelor of Business Administration, and is a Junior Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (IIBF). He has over 14 years of banking experience and was previously the Deputy General Manager, MSME Department.
• Shri. Raj Kokil Singh was promoted to General Manager. He joined the Bank in 2012, holds a Degree in Bachelors of Science and a Masters in Business Administration, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He has over 13 years of banking experience and previously served as Deputy General Manager, Kolkata Zonal office.
• Shri Suresh Singh was promoted to General Manager. He joined the Bank in 1992, holds a Degree in Master of Arts and Bachelor of Legislative Law, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He has over 33 years of banking experience and previously served as Deputy General Manager and Regional Head North Mumbai Regional Office.
• Shri Anil Kumar was promoted to General Manager. He joined the Bank in 2002, holds a Degree in Master of Business Administration and Masters of Arts, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). He has over 24 years of banking experience and previously served as Deputy General Manager and Zonal Head Guwahati.

The above changes are effective April 1, 2026.
