
Bajaj Electricals Reports Adverse Appeal Order Regarding GST Demand
Bajaj Electricals Ltd. issued an update regarding a tax assessment matter, reporting the receipt of an adverse Appeal Order. The Company announced the details pertaining to the order received from the Appellate Authority on April 6, 2026.The development relates to alleged short payment of tax based on a comparison between GSTR 1 and GSTR 3B for the Financial Year 2018-19. The order was issued by the Office of the Commissioner (Appeals), Central Excise, Customs & CGST, Jaipur, under Section 107 of the CGST Act 2017.
The Appeal Order, dated March 27, 2026, determined the matter on the grounds of the comparison between GSTR 1 and GSTR 3B for FY 2018-19. The document specifies that the Appellate Authority did not consider submissions previously made by the Company. The order raises an alleged gross demand of Rs. 3.45 crore, which encompasses a penalty amount of Rs. 31.53 lakh.
Management is currently assessing potential legal courses of action. These options include filing an appeal before the appropriate appellate tribunal and/or initiating a writ petition before the Hon'ble High Court against the Appeal Order.
Regarding the financial implications, the Company stated that the financial impact of the Appeal Order, should it materialize, would be confined to the demand raised and the penalty levied thereunder. Furthermore, Bajaj Electricals confirmed that the order has no impact on the operational, financial, or other activities of the Company.
