Avio Smart Market Stack Collaborates with US Companies for Aquaculture Ecosystem Development

National, March 25, 2026 – Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly known as Bartronics India Limited, announced a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Aquasafra Holdings, Inc. (AHI) and Waterfield Farms, Inc. (WFI), USA, to develop technology-driven aquaculture and fisheries ecosystems.

The collaboration aims to establish scalable and commercially viable aquaculture models by integrating Aquasafra’s advanced tilapia genetics with ASMS’s rural distribution infrastructure and digital ecosystem, which reaches over 5,000 villages and millions of rural participants. Aquasafra brings to the partnership over three decades of experience in fish genetics, hatchery systems, and integrated aquaculture solutions.

The partnership will explore the creation of regionally adapted tilapia hatcheries, deployment of modern aquaculture systems, and the integration of aquaponics-based models. Initiatives will also focus on feed optimization, lake and reservoir stocking, and capacity building for farmers and agri-entrepreneurs.

“Aquaculture represents a significant opportunity to enhance rural incomes and diversify agricultural value chains,” said Dr. Raja Krishnamurthy M, Head - Agri Tech Business, ASMS. “This collaboration allows us to combine strong on-ground access with global aquaculture expertise to build scalable and sustainable models across regions.”

The companies will also explore research and innovation initiatives focused on disease resistance, climate-resilient production models, and efficient water management systems. This engagement aligns with ASMS's Project AVIO Agritech strategy to expand into sectors such as fisheries and water resource management.

ASMS has strategically expanded into the health-tech sector, developing diagnostic technologies aimed at improving access to affordable healthcare across India. The company is also building what it aims to become India’s largest unified rural operating system, integrating financial inclusion, agriculture, rural commerce, and climate solutions.
