Atlanta Electricals Receives Approval for 400KV Transformer Manufacturing

Anand, Gujarat, April 1, 2026 – Atlanta Electricals Limited (NSE, BSE: ATLANTAELE), a manufacturer of power transformers, announced it has received approval from Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) for up to 400 kV class transformer manufacturing at its Vadodara facility. The approval was secured within two years of groundbreaking for the facility.

This approval validates Atlanta Electricals' commitment to entering the EHV class transformer supply market, contingent upon meeting qualifying requirements for 400KV transformers and completion of a short-circuit test. The PGCIL and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) approvals are expected to enable the company to participate in large EHV tenders, targeting peak 63,000 MVA utilization.

"This approval validates AEL's recent investments in the Vadod facility, enabling production of high-MVA units at scale that is critical for India's grid modernization and renewable evacuation," said Mr. Niral Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of Atlanta Electricals Limited. He further stated the certification supports growth in the renewable energy sector and aligns with India’s INR 9.6 Tn transmission capex through 2032.

Atlanta Electricals Limited manufactures and supplies power transformers ranging from 5 MVA/11 kV up to 500 MVA/765 kV, as well as auto transformers, inverter duty transformers, furnace transformers, generator transformers, and special duty transformers. As of December 31st, 2025, the company has supplied 4,710 transformers, totaling 1,07,229 MVA, across India.
