Amagi Media Labs Launches Newspulse: AI Platform to Transform Live Newscasts into Digital Content
Amagi Media Labs Limited has launched Newspulse, an Agentic AI platform designed to automate the process of transforming live news broadcasts and Video on Demand (VOD) libraries into various formats of digital content. The platform aims to provide a unified, policy-driven content curation engine for modern newsrooms.According to the company's announcement, Newspulse watches live news broadcasts and scans VOD libraries to automatically identify individual stories and package them as social-ready clips, vertical videos, and news bulletins.
The platform addresses the challenge that a large percentage of young adults consume their news through digital devices and rely on social media for news.
Key capabilities of Newspulse include:
- Intelligent Repurposing: When breaking news occurs, the AI instantly captures the moment and the story. Instead of using a static centre-crop, the AI dynamically tracks on-screen subjects, lower-thirds, and graphics to intelligently reframe the video into multiple aspect ratios, including 16:9, 9:16, 4:5, and 1:1.
- Automated Content Generation: In parallel, it generates platform-specific captions and post-information and publishes the tailored clips directly to the newsroom's digital endpoints within minutes, requiring no editor intervention on the timeline.
- Comprehensive News Bulletins: Beyond individual clips, Newspulse can sequence multiple stories to generate comprehensive news bulletins of varying lengths.
Crucially, the platform integrates editorial control, brand integrity, and compliance through its policy-driven Agentic AI. Newsrooms can define their brand voice, stylistic rules, and content priorities, ensuring the AI's autonomous formatting aligns with the network's unique cultural nuances.
Srividhya Srinivasan, Co-founder and CTO at Amagi, stated that Newspulse changes the equation by ensuring the AI operates strictly within the newsroom's defined guardrails, thereby handling the heavy lifting of multi-platform formatting. This feature, he added, liberates journalists and allows broadcasters to capture younger digital audiences without inflating production budgets.
Amagi Newspulse is currently in limited availability testing with select newsroom partners, with general availability scheduled for June 2026.
