The company stated in a regulatory filing that its board, in a meeting held on March 24, 2026, approved Bahirwani’s appointment as CEO (Designated) – Pantaloons and Senior Managerial Personnel (SMP) effective April 1, 2026. He will formally assume the role of CEO – Pantaloons and SMP from October 1, 2026.Sangeeta Tanwani to Oversee Transition Until September 2026
Current Pantaloons CEO Sangeeta Tanwani, who also serves as Whole-Time Director (WTD) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), will continue in her role until September 30, 2026, ensuring a planned and phased transition.Post transition, Tanwani will take on an advisory role, supporting the Managing Director on strategic matters from October 1, 2026, until her retirement on January 31, 2027. The company confirmed that she will cease to be WTD and KMP at the close of business on her retirement date.
Additional Leadership Appointments Announced
Alongside the Pantaloons succession, ABFRL also announced key leadership changes across its executive team:- Marco Agnolin has been appointed as CEO – OWND!
- Nikhil Modha will join as CFO (Designated) and SMP effective April 1, 2026, and will assume the role of CFO and KMP from January 1, 2027
CFO Transition to Continue Till December 2026
Current Chief Financial Officer Jagdish Bajaj will oversee a phased transition process and continue in his role until December 31, 2026, following which he will retire from the company.The succession plan outlines ABFRL’s structured approach to leadership continuity across key business verticals and senior management roles.
