Aarti Pharmalabs Ltd. reported a chemical leak at its Unit-VI facility in Tarapur on March 22, 2026. The incident involved a minor leakage of dimethyl sulphate, an industrial chemical, during loading into a tanker. The tanker was subsequently cleared.As a precautionary measure, 22 workers were admitted to a local hospital for observation. More than half of these workers have since been discharged. The company informed local police, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered. Aarti Pharmalabs stated that it will cooperate with the investigation agencies.
